Shenandoah University, founded in 1875, is located in Virginia, USA, with its main campus in Winchester.

Shenandoah University was founded as Shenandoah Theological Seminary in Dayton, Virginia in 1875. Shenandoah Theological Seminary became a junior college in 1924 and was renamed Shenandoah College the following year. And Shenandoah Conservatory became an independent corporation in 1937 and began conferring four-year degrees.

In 1960, Shenandoah College and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music moved to the 126-acre Winchester campus and began offering four-year degrees in 1974. Shenandoah was granted university status on January 1, 1991.
