Hofstra University, founded in 1935, is a first-class national university and a private, non-sectarian, research-based institution of higher education in the United States.
Hofstra University began as New York University’s Memorial School and Nassau College of New York University on Long Island. Nassau College became independent from New York University in 1937 and was renamed Hofstra College in 1963.
Hofstra University is located in Nassau County, New York, adjacent to New York City, the nation’s largest city. And offers access to the academic and social resources of the greater New York metropolitan area.
The campus is divided into north and south campuses, which are connected by an enclosed sky bridge across the main road. The South Campus is primarily a teaching and learning facility with mostly office and academic buildings and a library.
