Marist College
Marist College is a small, private, local university located in the New York City suburb of Poughkeepsie on the Hudson River and was founded in 1929.
In 1905, members of the Marist Brothers began settling on the site of the current school. Originally Marist College had been run by the Marist Brothers and was Catholic, and since 1969, it has operated independently of the Marist Brothers.
Although Marist College is no longer a parochial school, there is still a Catholic church on the campus, as well as a number of members of the Marist Brothers who have settled there.
